We are SOOOO excited!
So far this baby has taken the most out of me. It helped getting a cold for a couple weeks, okay, not really... but when I was feeling awful it was nice to blame it on the cold instead of the morning sickness. I am now starting to feel great! Cold gone and less nausea.
We were going to wait to tell Clair and Caleb about the baby because Clair tends to ruin surprises :) But I took them with me to my first doctors appointment and the doctor excitedly asked them if they wanted to see their new baby, "In mom's tummy!" Clair got a really funny look on her face and then light up like a light bulb. "A BORN BABY MOM!" Caleb doesn't understand quite as well as Clair but he always says, "yeah" when we ask if he is excited about getting a baby.
Since that visit Clair has tried telling the news to a few people. She'd start out by saying, "My mommy has a born baby in her tummy." The person would then ooo and awww with "oh, how cute! yes you were a baby in mommy's tummy hu! But now you are a big girl!" Clair got a little frustrated by this and stopped her efforts... until we went to a baby shower.
We got there and Clair immediately turned to the table of ladies and announced "I am going to have a baby." They asked her if it was a girl or boy. She answered, "no in my mommy's tummy!" So then the news was out. We were going to wait until next week to announce it so that Jason was done with finals and didn't have to feel distracted from friend's comments. But I am too excited to wait any longer.
A neighbor and a friend I've met at a library have both commented on why I would have kids so close and want more than two... :) I was thinking about this yesterday and felt so much comfort and peace with the knowledge of God's plan. I know that these precious little children lived with Heavenly Father before they came to live with me. He loves them SO much. He knows everything about them. Their wants, fears, likes, and potential. He knows mine as well. He wants us to enjoy life and be the best we can be. His greatest desire is that we return to live with him again. That is why he has given us commandments to follow and has restored his church with the priesthood power so we can have the most joy and peace during our earth life and then return to live with him. My job is so important. Children are hard work, life is hard work, but I am not mothering alone. I have all of heaven's help only a prayer away.
(and most of the time these prayers are answered by my family and friends, so thank you for all your love, help, and friendship!)
