Musuem of Natural History

I wish I had gotten more pictures of us but we were so busy looking at all the amazing things that taking a picture never came to mind... until the end :)

We went specifically to see the Egypt exhibit.  They had real mummies, coffins, pottery, hieroglyphs... it was really amazing!
It was all dimly lit so that the light wouldn't ruin the artifacts.  This made Clair feel really sick and scared so Jason didn't get to enjoy it as much as he wanted.  Caleb on the other hand was determined to read- to me- almost every label for every artifact that he could see at his level.  On the hieroglyphs he surprised me by standing for a long time looking.  I finally figured out what interested him so much when he pointed out to me the matching figures... "look Mom, dog, dog!"  (We have been playing the matching game a lot).  When Caleb and I got to the mummy Caleb asked me what it was.  I felt a little self conscious because there were quite a few people standing around with us and I could feel them all lean towards me to hear how I was going to answer this two year old.  I told him it was a mummy.  He excitedly started calling it a 'MOMMY.'  I tried correcting him but what can I say he is two.  It really was amazing to see and read about the culture and beliefs and rituals.

We also enjoyed walking around the precious gem floor.  The picture below was my favorite that we saw.  Caleb loved taking pictures of them.  He also loved going around and labeling different ones his favorite.

We didn't have a lot of time because we were attending a wedding that night and had to be home in time to get ready.  So sadly when we got to the dinosaur bones we were in a big hurry and didn't get to really enjoy it.  It was amazing.  I really didn't realize how big dinosaurs got.  They are so so so big!

This Museum we would recommend to defiantly see and plan it as at least half a day event if not a whole day.
