Houston Aquarium

After our fun trip to Idaho we decided we needed to get out and be tourist to Houston so we don't move and regret not actually doing anything...
We bought the City Pass and have started the week of exciting adventures.

First the Houston Aquarium.  It was pretty commercialized, and with the games and rides at the end it felt a little like lagoon in Utah!  I was also a little disappointed on the size, I guess I just thought with us being so close to the ocean we would have an awesome Aquarium.

On the other hand, doing this with our kids was totally worth it :)

Their main attraction is four white tigers.  There was only one on show while we were there but he was amazing.  They also had this statue to take pictures with.

Caleb wanted to take a million pictures of him roaring like a tiger.  Every time he had to check to make sure it wasn't really going to jump on him.

We also went into an area where you could pet some sting rays.  Clair called them "squshies."  It wasn't really child friendly which made it a bit difficult for us holding the kids and helping them pet them.  The sting rays were also very use to being fed by the tourists and so they came up looking for food which made both Clair and I a little nervous about our fingers.

Our pass included all the rides.  So here we are on the Ferris wheel up over the busy traffic.  We were able to see the traffic jam that we would be joining as soon as we finished our time there.

We had to ride the carousal.  Caleb chose the alligator and Clair the fancy pink seahorse.

We rode the train that went through a small tunnel where they kept the sharks.  Yikes!  It was pretty cool to see them swimming all around.

We left just in time for the clouds to come out and it to start raining.
