We are trying to save money by not spending it when we don't have to. This sometimes makes me laugh because it reminds me of living in the olden days when...
there were no cars:
Jason has been riding to and from his internship which is a 13 mile bike ride! He does this mostly so I can have the car during the day if I need it. My hero!

No washers and dryers:
We have been so spoiled to not pay for laundry. I was blown away by how expensive it was $2.25 for one load to wash and another $1.00 to dry. We attempted to wash our clothes in the bathtub like Jason did on his mission... I don't know how much longer that will last.

Dirt floors:
I forgot our dust pan, ha ha, silly me. So I've been using a handy dandy piece of copy paper which has been doing its job perfectly.

Making everything by hand:
It is so much cheaper, and healthier to make your own food. Although I do understand time is money a lot of the time it is just worth spending the money. Because I have the time, I have been making my own bread and noodles. I just learned how to make my own bread crumbs and croutons. My next project is tortillas, applesauce, and salsa.

Oh, the olden days. It will be these days that I will forever cherish!

sounds like what we did when we were in Arizona! Ecept (I'm missing the letter on my keyboard that would make that word be spelled correctly) I didn't do the noodles or the bread...because I only had room enough to take 3 plates, 3 bowls, 3 cups, etc.. and 1 tiny little miing (again missing that letter) bowl. Kudos to you for penny pinching...amazing how memorable those times are when you have so little! Good luck!
I am impressed with your breadmaking and everything else abilities. I wish that we could make bread together! The chicken salad wasn't too hard, but I kind of made up my own recipe with a combination of a few I had. If you want it, I could email it to you--what is your email? Mine is lindseymarlin@gmail.com if you need it. I hope all is well in California. I am glad that you have the internet now, so I can see what you are doing!!
Congrats on expecting!! How exciting! It looks like you are a force to be reckoned with--you go girl! It definitely saves money and IS healthier as well.
Also, congrats on your calling as a ward missionary. Sincere friendship is so important for investigators and new members. You've always been so warm and friendly.
