Caleb requested a "Monster Birthday"
I am not sure where he got the monster idea but it was so much fun! The other day the kids helped me tape some large googly eyes to some balloons and then we drew silly monster faces on them.
For Caleb's birthday we hung them up from the ceiling and then let Clair and Caleb run through them and hit them.
We made a pizza. Jason and Caleb threw the dough back and forth to stretch it out. It didn't do much stretching when Caleb helped but He did catch it so that was exciting.
Our friend (and Clair's sunbeam teacher) came and joined us for the party. The kids loved helping her put all the toppings on the pizza.
While the pizza cooked we moved onto making the "cake." It was really a fruit salad, because Caleb LOVES fruit. But we called it a cake, because you have to have a cake at a birthday party!
First we hollowed out the watermelon. Caleb enjoyed drinking the juice that made :)
Next Brianne carved the mouth. The fruit was cut up and Caleb helped in the placement while Brianne made the face for the Monster. Caleb I think ate half the fruit while he was "helping"
Wa-la the amazing "Fruit Monster"
We then did a google hang out with family so they could watch Caleb open the gifts they had sent him. He was very very loved.
Here is Clair and Caleb playing in the spoils.
These past two years have gone so fast. We sure love our Caleb!

So cute! I had the penpal letter on Monday, so it will probably not get to you until Friday.
