Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is so much fun!  I love the idea of focusing on telling others we love them and I love getting the love too.  This Valentine's day started our second year of our now tradition of "holiday after the holiday."  Everything is 1/2 off the day after and so it works extremely well for us trying to stay on our budget to celebrate it a day late.

This year Jason surprised me by making a nice card that he had printed professionally.  It said "I *heart* you infinity... Plus one.  Happy Valentine's Day... On my way home the other night I was looking at the starts and thinking about all the reasons I love you.  I thought I'd assign each star an attribute of yours that I love.  I was doing alright... until I ran out of stars... I love you Jill -your JAC"  This was so cute, especially since the last few nights he has been riding his bike home in the dark when the stars are all out.

When I was trying to find something thoughtful to do for him I came across some pictures I had drawn at work when we were dating.  I had put the pictures together to make a cute little book.  The book tells of how much I love Jason.  So I scanned those in fixed the pictures up a little then found a company that you can custom make your own board book.  That was a big hit with Clair and Caleb who wanted us to read it to them.

We finished our Valentine's celebration this morning with a Valentine's party with some friends in our ward.  We did a crepe breakfast with everyone bringing a topping to share.  It was a huge success and so yummy!  We then had each couple write on a slip of paper a hint to their love story.  Using the sentences or hints that were written we played the "family game," which is a fun guessing game.  Each time a couple was matched to the right hint they then told us their whole love story.  It is so much fun to listen to other's love stories and watch how much of God's hand was in it.
