Happy Halloween

After a long night and a long morning trying to finish my princess's dress we happily left the house for playgroup.  We had it at the church building today and let the kids dress up and brought halloween goodies to share.

The only thing I regret with Clair's dress is I made it too big.  I did it on purpose.  I wanted it as a dress-up later.  But, I feel like it doesn't look as good as a show-off dress because it isn't fitted.  Oh, well.

Caleb looked so cute as Prince Charming but He hated his costume (even more than the mustache on his binky).  He tried chewing off his shoulder pads and pulled on his belt while crying like I was torturing him.  It took food and playing with balls to help him forget that he was dressed up.

That night we went to our ward's trunk-or-treat.  I sprayed Clair and myself down with glitter and it was so much fun to watch her reaction, "Oh! Thank you Fairy God Mother!"  as she twirled and twirled and twirled- a dream come true, really :)

My favorite part about Halloween is to see what other people come up with!  Here is Clair and her friend, Jessie the Cowgirl after getting their face painted.

Here is Lexie and her dad as punks... He really doesn't look like that :)  But he did a great job with their costumes.

Here we are with our good friends Halie and Kendall who came with us.

I was very grateful for those who handed out pencils, finger puppets, bagged pretzels, and halloween necklaces.  Why do we hand out candy at all?

One more picture of Clair going for the bucket of candy- so excited and wanting to eat it ALL!
Caleb didn't quite get it.  He just followed Clair around chewing on a lollypop, I decided that was just fine!

Hope you had a Happy Halloween too!

Jill, I just love both costume ideas from this post and post below! You are SO creative and SO gifted in that department!!!! I agree with you about why are we handing out candy and not this other stuff? This year I wanted to go on strike and not buy any candy, but for some reason, I was out of ideas for what to do instead. Those are all excellent ideas!
