Quite Book

So here is the quiet book that I made for Clair. The cover isn't complete and I still have a couple pages I want to add but I am pretty proud of how it has turned out so far!

1. Heavenly Father Loves Me. I am going to attach a picture frame on the front and print out different pictures of Clair and family members that she can take out and look through then put back into the pouch.
2. My Name is... Sorry it is hard to see... this page has two rows of velcro where the letters can stick on. Clair doesn't understand the concept of spelling yet but loved sticking the letters and cards to the velcro and then taking them off to put back into the bag.
3. Getting Ready for Sunday Paper Dolls
4. Fix my Hair with hair clips and bands
5. Tie my Shoe. She didn't get into this one at all... eventually maybe :)
6. Time for Church. Spin the hand
7. Home to church. Slide the beads back and forth like cars. ( I did have a paper car that I was going to put on the ribbon but it was too big to make it go anywhere so I just did beads)
8. Word of Wisdom. I cut through his mouth so that Clair would have an easier time sticking the food into it. The bag on the back of the page catches it and makes it easy to get to.
9. I can be Reverent Puzzle.
Most of the pictures I found on line and played with them on photoshop until they looked how I wanted them to. The pages are all 8X8 and laminated. The bags that hold the cards are just sandwich bags that I used velcro to stick to the page. This makes it nice because I can take the bag off and hold it for Clair if she is having a hard time getting her hand into it. Next time I think I'll use freezer bags because they are more hardy. I didn't think of punching holes into the pages after laminating them and I found it to be almost impossible. In fact I finally just had to bend the page enough to cut diamond shaped holes with scissors. All the pages are held together with ribbon so I can add pages easily. I want to use the metal rings and so I can take pages out if more than one child wants to play with the book but I haven't been to the store to find those yet.

Wow, that is super impressive! We have a book that I made that is all laminated, more of a picture book, but anyway it has metal rings that I got at the bookstore, they were sold individually for like a quarter each. They work really well, so I would definitely give that a try!

I love it Jill! My favorite page is the word of wisdom one. I bet Clair loves it!

LOVE IT! You did a superb job, this is awesome :) I was all for sewing one, but then I needed special pens to write the words because I tried to use sharpies and they did NOT work. This is a great idea. Food thing you have a laminating machine...it looks like it came in handy for this project :)

*Good* thing...not "food" thing. Sorry about that typo
