Clair and I have been reading a few different books about the emotions we have. She is really into being funny and has started identifying when she is scarred. We recently read a book by Dolly Parton about being a rainbow and how each of us feel different ways and that is totally normal. The most important thing to know, however, is that although we might not be able to control how we feel we CAN control how we act!
Lately, I have been trying to find activities to do one on one with Clair that are more structured. One idea I have had is to read a book and then do an activity based on the book. This was our activity based on another emotions book "ABC Look at Me" by Roberta Grobel Intrater.
First we used the camera on my computer to take pictures of our different emotions...
(It helped that she could see me making the face with her. Playing in the computer or the mirror is one of our favorite things to do- she thinks it is really funny)
here is our happy face:
scared face:
surprised face:
angry face:
sad face:
silly face:
We then printed off the pictures and cut them out, stapled them into a book then decorated the cover and wa-la our own emotions book with our adorable faces :)
